On March 20, 2026—the first day of spring—we welcomed the Golden Isles community to a magical evening at Old Stables Corner for our Movie Night Under the Oaks. With the beloved environmental classic FernGully: The Last Rainforest lighting up the screen, the night was a perfect blend of community, conservation, and celebration.
More than 130 attendees joined us under the live oaks to enjoy the film, connect with neighbors, and support our mission. Thanks to the generosity of our guests, the event raised over $800 in donations, helping further our ongoing work.
We are incredibly grateful to our sponsors—Chick-fil-A Saint Simons, Jittery Joe’s at Righton Books, and Sea Island—whose donations and in-kind contributions made the evening possible. Chick-fil-A delighted attendees with cookies, brownies, tea, and lemonade, while guests also enjoyed freshly popped popcorn throughout the night.
A special thank you goes to the Golden Isles Film Festival, who provided the audiovisual experience and were an absolute pleasure to work with. Their expertise helped bring FernGully to life in a truly memorable outdoor setting.
We were also thrilled to host our education partners, Sea Island Nature and Coastal WildScapes, who engaged attendees with interactive booths and shared valuable insights about our local environment. Younger guests especially enjoyed the Creative Station, where they could color, draw, and express their creativity inspired by the evening’s theme.
With beautiful weather, a meaningful film, and a strong sense of community, the night was everything we hoped for and more. We are deeply thankful to everyone who came out to celebrate the first day of spring with us.
