Local Garden Clubs Help Fund JGNT Improvements

Members of the Live Oaks Garden Club (LOGC) and the Sea Island Gardening Group (SIGG) recently joined Land Trust Stewardship Director Stephanie Knox and Land Steward Technician Ethan Frye at the John Gilbert Nature Trail to present donation checks supporting the trail’s landscaping improvement project.

Their generous support—combined with a bequest from Steve and Miranda Hires and a grant from the Terry Thomas Foundation—made it possible to transform the trail’s front area from primarily grass into a vibrant landscape filled with native plants, shrubs, and trees. This thoughtful restoration will benefit the land and local wildlife for decades to come.

We are deeply grateful to our garden club partners for their generosity and continued commitment to conservation.
