Land Trust Announces Launch of 1% for St. Simons Program

The St. Simons Land Trust is proud to announce the launch of its newest fundraising program, 1% for St. Simons, to support the organizations overall mission of protecting the natural and scenic character of the island. Participating local businesses will collect a 1% voluntary donation on the gross sales from each customer. This donation will directly benefit Land Trust efforts to preserve green space, parks, wildlife, waterways and trails present on St. Simons.

Save the Date: Oyster Roast 2018

The Land Trust is thrilled to announce that the 18th annual Oyster Roast has been scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Gascoigne Bluff.

This annual event is one that the SSLT team and members, along with the entire island community, look forward to each year. It is a night of food, fun and community, and none of it would be possible without the help of our volunteers, donors and sponsors. Last year’s event was a smashing success and we look forward to another fantastic evening!

Movie Under the Oaks: "Swiss Family Robinson" at Old Stables Corner

The community is invited to a free showing of Swiss Family Robinson at the Old Stables Corner, courtesy of the St. Simons Land Trust. The Movie Under the Oaks will take place at 8:30 p.m.on Friday, July 28, at the Land Trust property, 11 Market Street, on St. Simons Island.

Land Trust Receives 2.6-acre Land Donation in Harrington from BB&T

Another wildlife habitat on St. Simons Island will now be protected by the St. Simons Land Trust, thanks to a donation by BB&T.

The property is a 2.624-acre residential parcel located off North Harrington Road, adjacent to a heavily forested nine-acre tract. It will remain undeveloped and in its natural state.

Sunrise at Cannon's Point: A celebration of National Trails Day

National Trails Day, June 3, gets underway early at Cannon's Point. The preserve celebrates with special hours, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., and a selection of programs for all ages and interests.
